Privacy Policy

How we handle your data and privacy while using NXStation.

NXStation is a locally-run homebrew frontend designed to respect your privacy. By default, the core interface and RetroArch backend operate entirely offline on your Nintendo Switch.

1. Data Collection

  • We do not track your usage habits or send telemetry.
  • We do not collect personal identifying information.
  • Save files, configuration, favorites, navigation state, ROM paths, and cached media remain strictly on your local SD card.
  • This website does not use analytics cookies or third-party tracking pixels.

2. Network Requests

While the application is primarily offline, certain optional features require network access. Requests are made directly from your device to third-party services — NXStation does not operate a proxy server that receives or stores your library data.

  • ScreenScraper: When you run the scraper, NXStation queries ScreenScraper to download box art, screenshots, video previews, and game metadata to your SD card.
  • Updates / downloads: Release binaries and documentation are obtained from GitHub (or mirrors you choose). Visiting this site or the repository is optional.

These external services are bound by their own privacy policies. NXStation acts only as a client fetching public metadata you explicitly request.

3. Your Rights

Because NXStation does not collect, store, or transmit your private data to our servers, there is no personal data to delete, export, or manage on our end. You are in full control of the application data residing on your SD card — delete the /switch/NXStation/ and related cache folders at any time to remove local app data.
